Here is my poem "The Dalai Lama Blues"! From my book, "Servant and Several Sillinesses"
THE DALAI LAMA BLUES
Every few years
They hit me!....
Those old Dalai Lama blues.
oh yeah!
They hit like a wall
They do
Frantic
Nerves jumping
Heart racing, pounding
I WILL get to meet him!
I WILL get to speak!
WE
WILL have
a conversation!! yes! yes???
It will be
accidental again
No, no
It will be
All Planned
By his staff!!!!
I HAVE to make it happen!!!!!
this year
IT is Meant to happen!!!!!
oh......
where is He?
Not here.....
Will he be There?
I look
heart pounding
I pace
I walk
I talk
Voice high pitched
Anxious
Someone stares at me.....ohhhhh dear....?
Someone talks at me........oooopssss!!!
Where WAS I? What planet???
Don't worry....
It has ended
Now I am
just ordinary
Again.
just bland and boring
Again.
Glad that I am
NOT
Famous like
The Dalai Lama.
