Maybe we should improve tourism to Toronto by selling tickets to see Rob Ford chased by the media!  And all of us Ignored By The Media Working Artists  could bring little bags of  popcorn and peanuts for everyone watching it all!!!

A Video!

I will be working hard to try to figure out how to edit the video of Nik Beat's Howl radio show that I filmed last night.....as soon as I find the time...
It looks pretty good, so far!  I got it into my Google Drive last night, so it's safe from Crazy Computer Complications!!

The Table a poem

Here is a new poem that I wrote.  It is about how my book, Hugo and Fluffy Tales is in The Dalai Lama's personal library!
His staff was very confused by the fact that he kept my book, but said nothing at all.
This is what I think that he was thinking!
This poem was very well received at Nik Beat's Howl at Q Space on Sunday!

Aboriginal People's Television Network!!!!

The Aboriginal Peoples' Television Network is interested in my story!!!  They have passed it on to their news people!!!
APTN is a nationwide TV station, based in Winnipeg!  I will be praying very hard that the news picks up my story!

I had a lovely conversation with Rebecca Field about my book, and how I met H.H. The Dalai Lama today!
Then, I emailed her some photos of my reading at The Toronto Tibetan Canadians Cultural Centre.
She is going to let me know when the article comes out!  I can hardly wait!

Media Attention!! At Last!

Rebecca Field of The Beach Riverdale Mirror newspaper got back to me today!!
She wants to interview me for the paper!!
I'm so happy!
The Mirror papers are all over Toronto, so you never know what can come from this!!!!

I need to draw a big happy face, and add it to this!  :-)

getting Prepared!!!

I now have Google Drive and Microsoft to store my stuff.  All prepared for the likely crashes of my computer to come!!!
I had time to play, too!  Here is my screen saver!  Watch out for the Flying Fluffy!!!

I still have my Computer Woes.  Blechhhh...!
Now, I will have to PAY to have the computer guy down the street retrieve my videos.  The nice young guy at The Source said that he doesn't know how, and doesn't know if it is a hardware problem or not.  Doesn't seem to be, from what he could tell.  He said that it's all the fault of Microsoft Windows.

I have figured out that I can upload to Google Drive.  As soon as I videotape anything, or take a photo, I will put it there, for sure!!  Google has tons of storage.

Computer Woes!!! Again!!!

My stupid computer went and LOST a bunch of my files!!!
It gets confused whenever Windows 8 does an update, and won't go on at all!  I rebooted it, and it decided to repair itself, and then said that the only way that it could do that was by "cleaning".
Result????  Everything that I'd downloaded, but hadn't shared yet, disappeared!!!
I now have to put my scanner back in, too.  I got Picasa back, but it hadn't saved anything that I hadn't shared.
This computer is only a month old!!!  
WAAAAAA!!!!!  Just when I'd done two great videos of poets, and of Nik Beat's Howl radio show.....
And, I still have to try emailing news people, hoping to get covered, and ask publishers about sending in my book...
I may have to be off for a few days while they retrieve my data.....

I have been told that I should put better photos into my emails sent to the media.
And.....write the article for them!  They are all too busy!!! 
Work at home tomorrow, then!!!

Even more nervewracking than waiting for The Dalai Lama to get back to me!!!

I have emailed Robert Thurman.  I have posted on Richard Gere's website.  I have tweeted Oprah, and also Yoko Ono!
I contacted Breakfast Television on CityTV, and I contacted Global TV!
Who's next???   Vision TV!  I think that I have to phone those guys......

For now, I will rest and have something sweet to eat.

emails Galore!!!

I had a very busy day today!  Took a Rain Day off of errands, to email every news place that I could think of!
CBC Toronto, The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Sun, The Beach Metro News, The Beach Mirror, Snap newspaper and to two CBC radio shows!  The Current, with Anna Marie Tremonte, and Tapestry with Mary Hinds.
Now, it's waiting......and waiting.....and waiting....
And....lots of hard praying!!!!
Forgot to try Breakfast TV.  Maybe do that now.  Oh well.

Toronto Public Library????

I just sent my email and book info to the lady in charge of children's book at The Toronto Public Library!!
If I get one of my books into the system, I should get 10 cents whenever someone takes out my book!!  (for awhile, anyway)
The receptionist who answered my phone call about my book's chances was very friendly, and seemed to believe me!!
Man!  Praying hard to get a book (or five) into libraries!
If anyone knows if their city library system could be interested in my book, let me know!

                            THE DALAI LAMA BLUES

Every few years
                          They hit me!....
Those old Dalai Lama blues.
                                                    oh yeah!
They hit like a wall
                                They do
                                               Frantic          
                                               Nerves jumping
                                               Heart racing, pounding
I WILL get to meet him!
I WILL get to speak!

WE
      WILL have
                        a conversation!!  yes!  yes???
It will be
                        accidental again
                       No, no
It will be
                       All Planned
                       By his staff!!!!

I HAVE to make it happen!!!!!

Waiting for the CBC

I have sent an email to Debbie Lightle-Quan at CBC.  Finally got the spelling of her name right!!  Phew!
So, now, I nervously await my emails....
My church, St. John the Baptist, Norway will be doing a story of me and my book in their June newsletter!  I sent the editor a few pics from the book, and one of Fluffy!  Taken by Darla St. Sycamore.
Tomorrow, it will be CBC radio shows to email, and calling the Beach Metro news.

CBC, etc.......

I finally got up the courage to phone the CBC yesterday.  At least the switchboard guy was enthused about my Dalai Lama story!
He gave me 2 email addresses for CBC radio shows, and the email for Debbie Lightle-Quan.  She does cutesy stories about children in Toronto, for CBC Toronto.
Unfortunately, the two shows that he thought that I could get onto, George Strombolopolous and Steven and Chris, are both on hiatus until July!!!  
So, on Monday, I'll be busy emailing CBC!  And getting my nerve up to call McClelland and Stewart.  

The Maple Leafs Blues???

I am going to try calling the CBC, to see if my story is newsworthy.  Maybe it will be put on as a "Human Interest/Cute" story.....
I am afraid, though, that with the Toronto Maple Leafs being in the playoffs (for once)  that all of those stories will be taken by them!!!!
I may have to end up writing a very sad (!!!) poem about this!!
