Videotaping Work at 100,000 Poets for Change

I will be working this Saturday at two events for 100,000 Poets for Change!  I am doing lots of videography these days!
The first one is at Maple Leaf Grill and Lounge on Lakeshore West, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The second one is at Victory Cafe in Mirvish Village, from 7:00 p.m.
I will then edit and post the videos to my YouTube channel:  penel j smith

Taking Care of Hank the Cat

I have Nik Beat's cat, Hank here at my place!  Nik hopes that his bathroom renovation will be done by Tuesday.
Hank is kind of sad.  He really misses Nik a lot.  He is a very nice cat, and I hope that he will be going home to be with Nik again soon, even though I will miss Hank a lot!
This morning, Hank went to sleep on top of me, and I went back to sleep, too.  He and I slept in another two hours!  So nice to wake up to a cat sleeping on me!

The Steven and Chris Show

The Steven and Chris show is still ringing in my brain.  Big audience, and a very loud one, too.  They would get us to clap a lot, and then I couldn't hear what Steven and Chris were saying.
Most of the time, though, the sound was quite good.  Kind of TOO loud at times!

They didn't mention me, or my book.  I guess that you have to be an audience regular for that?  

I also didn't win a Smart TV, or a great camera...but the stuff that people won was pretty cheap stuff, anyway.  One lady won the FANTASTIC prize of...wait for it!...A tube of Sensodyne toothpaste!!!  Whoopee!

We all got to take home 2 bottles of a new, fancy type of oil.  Made in Saskatchewan. It is called "camelina oil".  Has omega 3's and vitamin E in it.
Tastes good!  
I am allergic to olives, so it's nice to get a fancy oil that isn't olive oil.

I sat with a lady who had been to the 9:00 a.m. taping.  They just got a cookbook. 
Maybe my luck is changing a little bit for the better, after all???

The Steven and Chris Show Nerves!

I will be in the audience of The Steven and Chris Show today.   
I'm hoping that they will mention my book,  Hugo and Fluffy Tales.  They did mention someone else's book once, on the show.  I let them know about it, anyway!
I will be leaving early, because of the Queen St. streetcars!  They can leave you waiting for half an hour at the stops;  and then...FIVE come at once!!!

Maybe I'll be early, though, and will get to sell my last six books that I have on hand!  I hope to sell to some CBC people!!!

I have 3 pictures left to take in my disposable camera.  Sometimes they let you take photos with Steven and Chris.
I will have the pics taken and my pics from my trip to St. Catherines to visit my sister!

Money for blogging...

It looks like I am making money from my blog!!!
So far, I sort of have 39 cents!!!  Sort of...because it is not my FINAL EARNINGS.  
According to finalized earnings?
I have made the incredibly whopping total of...(DRUM ROLL).... ONE CENT!!!
Of course, that is NOT in Canadian money.  We no longer have pennies here.  Rounded to the nearest thing, I have made no cents.
Yee Haw.

Hot Afternoon...

Because it was so hot today, I went to Kew Gardens after the library.  
I took along a small sign about my book, "Hugo and Fluffy Tales", and it having been presented to H.H. The Dalai Lama.
It worked!  I sold another book!
Tomorrow, I will try again.  It will be another hot day, so maybe the movie stars will be out, trying to cool off.  The lady today had some sort of I.D. around her neck.  She said that she had "heard" about my book!!!

Hugo and Fluffy Tales

Looking for a new kitten, still...

I am still looking for a new kitten.
The people who advertised on Kijijii never got back to me.  Maybe I sounded too desperate.  Or, they have too many people wanting their kittens.
I haven't seen the little pregnant cat up the street again; and the neighbour who might know who she is with has been away all week!
It all reminds me of when I was apartment hunting during a time when rentals were scarce.  A very tense time, with tons of places to look at.  None of them quite right, too!  My being out so often, too, made Fluffy have more epileptic seizures.
This place, I only got by accident.  I was calling about another place, and was told that everyone else ahead of me had cancelled out!
This isn't the greatest place that I saw, but it is the biggest, and has the biggest windows in a basement, too.  It is cheap, but so is the landlord!
I hope that I find a kitten by accident, too!  That is the best way to get one.  To have the kitten adopt you!!!

Looking for a new kitten

I am starting to look at new kittens.  I want a reincarnation of Fluffy.
These week old baby kittens seem just perfect.  Two are black, and they have a quiet and peaceful mother.  The mother is long haired.
Trouble is, they are north of Toronto!  I think that the owners will ignore me.  They will want someone close to home, to keep in touch.
But, at least I can look!  And, with the pregnant black cat that I saw up the street on Tuesday night, I am much more hopeful that a little black female kitten is out there!

Destiny?

After hearing Tom Fischer talk of destined meetings tonight, a strange thing happened...
I was at my sister Dorothy's house in St. Catherine's for the long weekend.  Then Nik Beat picked me up at the bus depot.    We picked up Tom, and went to Nik's radio show, Howl, on CIUT fm.

I was dreading coming home to my empty place.  No World Famous Fluffy.
But...as we came across the street in the dark, I heard a soft mewing!  I went, and could hardly see it, but it was a black cat!  She walked away slowly, after greeting me, to let me see her enormously PREGNANT big belly!!!
Could that pregnant black cat be telling me that Fluffy is in her tummy, waiting to be reborn?  From only 3 houses away?
I pray so.  
And, I pray that Momma Cat survives, and all of her kittens.  That they will be safe from the coyotes in this area.
